This year (2017) Annantalo has a brand new stage called A.Lava!

New in our courtyard: A.lava stage and a collective tile art work celebrate Annantalo Art Centre’s 30th anniversary year

A-lava is Annantalo Arts Centre’s new public venue and performance stage, with events scheduled throughout the summer. A-lava offers performances, workshops, encounters and lots more summer fun for families, children and young people.

The venue will host theatre, movies, a variety of open art workshops for children and young people, concerts, open stage events and graffiti workshops as well as holiday events and festivities for the whole family.

Summer is coming again and so is Annantalo’s Summer Park! The opening will be held in Annantalo yard on the 6th of June at 10.00.
The Summer Park is open for all. It’s a place for hanging around, meeting people and relaxing. In the Summer Park there will be all sorts of fun activity for the whole family.  The opening times are 6th to 30th of June and 1st to 12th of August Mon-Fri 10-20.
In 2016, The Summer Park will offer lots of interesting summer-stuff to do for children, youth and families. There are no age limits, so bring your friends of all ages along!
The program will include for example picnic-days, a grill, street painting, open art workshops for children and youth (including pimping balloons and fabric bags), graffiti-workshops, minigolf, ping-pong, park yoga, make-a-pin-Fridays and hammocks. And of course our popular charging point for all sorts of mobile devices. During the morning and before noon, the program is planned especially for children and families with children. In the evening the activity will focus on youth and young adults, with different things to do and experience.

The Summer Park has been invented in the Ruuti-program for young people and the activities have been planned and implemented together with youngsters.

Summer Park opening ceremony
6 June 2016–6 June 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
The programme includes the blowing of soap bubbles, a flower wreath workshop, the inauguration of a street artwork, and much more. The programme will last all day until 8 p.m. Free entry, welcome!

Giant soap bubble workshop
6 June 2016–6 June 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
The Summer Park opening will be celebrated in a bubbly mood. Join us, blow colourful giant soap bubbles and enjoy delicious popcorn! Open for all, children accompanied by an adult.

Tropical flower crown workshop
6 June 2016–6 June 2016 at 1:00 p.m.
Come and make your own tropical flower wreath! In addition to the usual flowers, fruit and vegetables will be used in the wreaths. Our experts will guide you in producing a beautiful creation, and share tips on how you can dry the wreath to keep it as a memento. You are welcome to bring your own graduation or other festive flowers and include them in the wreath to make a unique memento! Duration of the workshop: approx. 20 min. There is room for 30 persons per workshop on a first come, first served basis

Street Art Vantaa 💜 Summer Park!
6 June 2016–6 June 2016 at 5 p.m.
Join Street Art Vantaa in painting the paved path in Annantalo yard to transform it into the tropical Amazon River. Each participant will paint not only their own figures but the common work, leaving their mark on the cityscape of central Helsinki. Please note that, when painting, your clothes may get dirty and smudged. Wear something that you do not mind getting stained. The workshop will take place every weekday from 6 to 16 June, at 5 to 7 p.m.

Midnight Street Basket
6–27 June 2016 at 4 p.m.
The super popular Midnight Street Basket will take over Annantalo's backyard on Monday evenings in June. Join in the game in good company and enjoy the evening sun in our sheltered backyard. Night Basket is played in the Summer Park every Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Ping-pong & Mini Golf
6–30 June 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
Come and play ping-pong or mini golf at the FunAction point with a friend, or challenge the instructors to join in the game. Every Tuesday and Wednesday there will be instructors who can share tips on how you can become a ping-pong champion or putter of the year.

Naperokino films indoors are a cosy way of spending rainy summer days.  Naperokino shows high-quality children's films non-stop. Suitable for viewers of all ages. Children accompanied by parents.

Graffiti workshop
6–30 June 2016 at 5:00 p.m.
Yeesi organises open graffiti workshops in the Summer Park every Wednesday in June, from 5 to 7 p.m. This is your chance to try your hand at legal street art and graffiti, free of charge and with an instructor. Remember to bring clothes and shoes suitable for painting.

Tropical Art Workshops, led by artist Yvapurü Samaniego
7–30 June 2016 at 1:00 p.m.
Summer Park's artist in residence, Yvapurü Samaniego, leads unique tropical art workshops in the Summer Park twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m. Tropical bird lanterns and flowers and wild jungle masks will be made at the workshops. Free admission. Children accompanied by an adult.

 Yoga in the spirit of the tropics
7–27 June 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
The Summer Park offers free yoga for young people in the spirit of the tropics. Bring along comfortable clothes, a yoga mat and a water bottle. You will be able to take a shower after the yoga session. Free admission.

9–30 June 2016 at 5:00 p.m.
Every Thursday in June, the Summer Park offers rap, electronic music and indie pop, when members of the youth network Jook Joint Movement serve as DJs! Every Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Badge Friday
10 June–12 August at 1:00 p.m.
Make your own summer badge! You may bring along pieces of fabric or craft supplies. The workshop is open to participants of all ages, including parents with children. One badge per participant.

Colour splashes and experiences
13–17 June 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
The workshop Colour splashes and experiences experiments with painting in different materials and using different senses. The workshop, focusing on the visual arts, is aimed primarily at children under school age. Instructed by students Tiia Kavén and Henna Rauhala. Up to 30 participants at a time, no advance registration required. Children accompanied by an adult. Remember to wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.

Hello Ruby open workshops
14–16 June 2016 at 5:00 p.m.
At the Hello Ruby open workshops, participants will make robots from scrap metal, party in the fabulous Space discotheque and paint together, in a programming-oriented mindset. At Hello Ruby workshops, children get to explore the world of coding and information technology in a fun and creative way. Workshops on three consecutive days from 5 to 6.30 p.m.

Balloon Tuning Workshop
20–23 June 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
Tune your very own summer balloon! At the balloon tuning workshop, participants will conjure up colourful balloon animals and all sorts of creatures. The workshop is open to participants of all ages, including parents with children. One tuned balloon per participant.

Fabric bag tuning workshop
20–30 June 2016 at 5:00 p.m.
Tune your very own summer bag for the beach or for a picnic! The workshop is open to participants of all ages, including parents with children. One bag per participant.

Green Light District
5 August–5 August 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
Green Light District is a Helsinki-based hip hop band, which energises the tropics at Summer Park. This is an evening you won't want to miss, as the five band members, who came second in the  international Emergenza band contest, put their best foot forward.

Ääniä Le-Alem
9 August–9 August 2016 at 6:00 p.m.
Ääniä Le-Alem combines Ethiopian alternative/jazz/reggae sound with Scandinavian folk rock with an exciting acoustic combo. The playlist includes Ethiopian songs from the Swinging Addis period of the 60s and 70s, and popular Finnish songs, rearranged in Ääniä Le-Alem's original style.

Sås och Kopp
10 August–10 August 2016 at 1:00 p.m.
We will hear the playful songs in Swedish by the Finnish-Swedish duo at the Summer Park. Even adults love these songs for children!
